Formerly known as Salamat, we now offer (here in the upper midwest USA) a variety of ensembles and classes in these gorgeous, soaring and richly textured Near Eastern classical, traditional and contemporary musics! All traditional accoustic instruments (vocalists, qanun, nay, oud, violin, riqq, clarinet, accordion, and more).
Current touring ensembles include SULTANI YEGAH (a mosaic of music from Ottoman Turkey) and CONVERSATIONS! (contemporary, exploratory improvising Near East music, including a vina player from Madras). And ask about Ensemble Mezze's: Romany, Turkish and Arabic repertoire!
Our music ensembles are available for concerts, workshops, school & community assemblies and residencies. We have years of performance and teaching history in Minnesota and California.
